Corporate Social Responsibility

GE Tools Limited recognises it’s corporate and social responsibilities to its clients, suppliers, employees and other stakeholders and is committed to conducting business in a manner which achieves sustainable growth whilst fulfilling legal and moral obligations.

We aim to achieve our business objectives in a caring and responsible manner recognising the economic, social and environmental impacts of our activities; we have developed our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Strategy. Our CSR Strategy is based on four overarching principles: –

1. Community Engagement

As a responsible corporate citizen, GE Tools Limited strives to have a positive impact in the community by giving something back. Our relationships with the local communities are very important to us and are an essential part in the growth of our business. We give something back by building a culture that promotes employee volunteering, corporate giving and creating local educational partnerships. We are also committed to shaping our business strategy on future risks faced by the community at large.

2. Service Excellence

We strive to trade with integrity within the marketplace, from our suppliers to our customers. In making choices around suppliers we integrate social and environmental criteria into the vetting process. We do not offer, give, seek or receive, either directly or indirectly, inducements or other improper advantages for business or financial gain and no employee may offer, give, seek or receive any gift or payment which is, or could be construed as such. 3. Sustainability

We seek to minimise the environmental impact of our activities through environmentally responsible practices including the prevention of pollution, the minimisation and control of waste and sourcing from sustainable natural resources. We are committed to conducting our activities and operations in line with current legislation. For further information see our Environmental Policy. We encourage our employees to purchase and operate the most energy efficient method of transport available to reduce our carbon output.

We understand that work-life balance is an important part of modern life and as such we operate a 5-day working week in most areas at our sites in North Wales, as well as supporting a number of people with specific flexible working arrangements across the business. We treat all our employees fairly and honestly.

All employees have agreed terms and conditions in accordance with local law or practice and will be given the appropriate job skills training. We pay a fair reward, reflecting local markets and conditions and always meet or exceed any national minimum wage. Working hours are not excessive and comply with industry guidelines and national standards where they exist.

We do not employ illegal child labour or forced or bonded labour. Employees have the rights of freedom of association and collective bargaining. We respect the rights of our employees to choose whether or not to join a trade union without influence or interference from management.

We aim to continually review measure and improve our approach to Corporate Social Responsibility. To help us achieve this aim we have a strong CSR governance embedded in the business and set strategic CSR targets. Newsletters to share initiatives with employees across the business and encourage participation in future projects.

GE Tools Limited Board fully support the GE Tools limited CSR Strategy and all related policies and strategies. The GE Tools Limited values are embedded in the CSR Strategy; therefore, it is the responsibility of all our employees to abide by this policy. This policy covers all GE Tools Limited activities and will be reviewed annually to ensure effective and continual improvement.
